Stem and handlebar simulations.
A digital test for bicycle stems and handlebars is one of our most
advanced tests. Digital in-phase / out-of-phase fatigue and overload
tests according to NEN -EN 14764, 14766 and 14781 standards.
In the model we include the bolts, then tension them to the
prescribed preload having a significant influence on the structure.
Another important item is the prescribed handlebar. For reliable
results we model according its real dimensions, material, and use.
Testing with a rigid dummy is not accurate, showing a longer life than
in real world use.
The last important item is the surface finish. This is an important
factor in the overall fatigue life of the stem.
